David is an industrial designer with more than 15 years of experience in transforming concepts into award-winning designs. As a contractor offering both residential and commercial design services, his experience ranges from new construction to historic buildings. His niche is designing unique retail spaces such as custom cabinetry and furniture for cafés, restaurants and farm markets.
Since 2013, David has been a freelance Industrial Designer and Graphic Designer working for a number of clients. His work has included regularly designing industrial brakes for SMI Corporation, creating a uniform label design for Conebella Farm’s 50+ products, designing and building a deli and cafe for Weaver’s Orchard and designing a baby bassinet for Iron Mountains, Inc.
From 2011 to 2013 he worked as an Industrial Designer with Fleetwood Fixtures, a retail furniture manufacturer. From 2005 to 2011 he played a pivotal role in the design and development of the award-winning Cricket™ Laptop Stand and EVO™ Laptop Arm at Innovative Office Products, a high-end office product manufacturer. Both products have won many awards, including Cricket™ receiving an Honorable Mention by Red Dot in 2008, and EVO™ taking home Silver in Best of NeoCon in 2007 and the 2006 Red Dot Award.

Projects

Weaver’s Orchard Deli

Project included working with the deli manager, farm market manager and president to determine the general aesthetic, creating CAD designs for approval, ordering materials and building the deli cabinetry and countertops.

Kim’s CafE at Weaver’s Orchard

Project included working with the café manager, farm market manager and president to determine the general aesthetic, creating CAD designs for approval, ordering materials and building the café cabinetry and counters.

Work for Fleetwood Fixtures

King Arthur Flour, REI and Fleetwood Fixtures Trade show Booth

Projects below included using reclaimed materials in the cashwraps and fixtures for the REI flagship store in Soho as well as designing the cash wrap and greeter stand at King Arthur Flour’s headquarters in Norwich, Vermont. Other projects included BHLDN in Chicago and the Fleetwood Fixtures trade show booth.

WOrk for Innovative Office Products

Portable Computer stand, EVO Monitor Arm and Cricket Laptop Stand

Projects included creating a portable computer and playing a pivotal role in the design and development of the award-winning Cricket™ Laptop Stand and EVO™ Laptop Arm at Innovative Office Products, a high-end office product manufacturer. Both products have won many awards, including Cricket™ receiving an Honorable Mention by Red Dot in 2008, and EVO™ taking home Silver in Best of NeoCon in 2007 and the 2006 Red Dot Award.

Projects for Organizations in france

Projects included designing and welding a metal fence for a pool gate in a medieval village, adding a spiral staircase to a 400-year old building, remodeling 2 bathrooms and a kitchen and designing an accessible ramp to local code requirements.
